Nice gesture from the Boston Bruins
to FINALLY retire a jersey number
of the first black player they
or the entire blamed NHL
ever had lace up
a pair of skates!
Nice of them to do so
on Martin Luther King Jr Day
amidst a pandemic
- that MLK Jr Day is actually
the anniversary of...!
(The first reported case in the U.S.
was on January 18th, 2020 - yes.)
The day... for once, also
Willie The Bruin's Day...
coincides, also, with
Winnie The Pooh Day...
It's true; it's true:
Back in 2018, the Bruins had honored
Willie O'Ree before a game
against hated rivals...
This year, 2021, they didn't fare
all that well after honoring
in a more significant way
their pioneer; losing 1-0
in the final minute of the game!
That's right: they were unable to score
a single goal...
Sad.
