Tig Notaro
She writes her own material -almost always based upon highly personal experience- assumes directorial duties on her own live shows and executive produces it, too! She is a cancer survivor; one who had a double-mastectomy and jokes about it now! She is an out-in-the-open lesbian, married, with a family - kids she and her *wife* were given to adopt (but then - they give kids to male gay couples and even gave one to Amber Heard ~ solo, so...) * but back to Tig Notaro: originally from Mississippi but with a lineage that goes back to Massachusetts (so you know she will be viewed with kindness here...!) who regularly bombs in Vegas - somehow...?!? She is a very funny lady, no matter how one looks at it; even when there are no laughs. Or ratings. Or both. But her friends (DeGeneres, Colbert, O'Brien) in the comedy world and her thespian *wife* (seen in The L Word 2.0) love her to bits, so...
