Tig Notaro
She writes her own material -almost always based upon highly personal experience- assumes directorial duties on her own live shows and executive produces it, too! She is a cancer survivor; one who had a double-mastectomy and jokes about it now! She is an out-in-the-open lesbian, married, with a family - kids she and her *wife* were given to adopt (but then - they give kids to male gay couples and even gave one to Amber Heard ~ solo, so...) * but back to Tig Notaro: originally from Mississippi but with a lineage that goes back to Massachusetts (so you know she will be viewed with kindness here...!) who regularly bombs in Vegas - somehow...?!? She is a very funny lady, no matter how one looks at it; even when there are no laughs. Or ratings. Or both. But her friends (DeGeneres, Colbert, O'Brien) in the comedy world and her thespian *wife* (seen in The L Word 2.0) love her to bits, so...
If you've never seen one of her shows or stand-up acts, check out her HBO special -part of the FUNNY OR DIE series- filmed at the Wilbur Theater in Boston; she unquestionably truly shows herself to be an unruly original who doesn't give a damn right there...!

Tig managed to beat cancer
AND find love - all in one go.
Together, Tig and Stephanie have founded a family.
Two newborn babes have made their household "a family"
(or should it be "newfound" - via borderline breeding services?)
Stephanie Allynne is an actress in her own right indeed -

HBO warns the viewer, beforehand, that the ''following presentations contains...'' well, mature subject matter, of course... but also NUDITY!
Nudity?
On a COMEDY SHOW, PERFORMED LIVE ON STAGE (at the august Wilbur Theater in Boston, no less!) before a classy audience...?!?
IMPOSSIBLE - right?
This isn't VEGAS - after all (for one thing!)
And it isn't a sleazy strip joint either!
Plus it's a COMEDY show - stand-up comedy! Nothing that ever includes nudity...
UNLESS... the old, old as the world, joke of MOONING THE AUDIENCE is used...?!?
No - that's not it!
Then what could it be...?!?
WHY THE NUDITY ADVISORY...?!?
Can you guess - can the suspense remain until the NEXT COMMENT - AND REVEAL?

... DRUMROLL PLEASE...
The nudity stems from the simple fact that TIG NOTARO will not moon but she can easily FLASH THE AUDIENCE...
As a matter of fact, she finishes the show TOPLESS!!!
Double mastectomy - remember?
SHE HAS NO BREASTS!
Her removing her shirt (because, of course, she dresses very masculinely...) has no more importance than when a normal bloke removes his t-shirt on the beach!
Now while it may have shocked -or at least surprised- some of the Boston audience at Wilbur, it was only momentarily so and the rest of the show went by like a breeze - while she remained with a bare torso on stage!
Her great professional comedic poise made it so - as she went from subject to subject, at a great pace, after having tackled the topic of her bout with cancer and its ravages.
Amazing - and unique.
Unruly too.
Tig rocks!
